Siran Mukerji

With a career spanning more than 24 years, I have been actively engaged as the head of a number of departments dealing with student services in higher education. I have been the primary coordinator for planning, facilitating, and implementing the support services with highest level of organizational efficiency and competency. I have been performing multi-faceted roles of an educator, trainer, and facilitator, responsible for performing key roles in learner recruitment management, student performance assessment process, and training, skill development and competency enhancement of higher education professionals. I also serve as an advisor, collaborator and liaison between the University and a network of higher education institutions for offering the academic programs. Presently I am also a member of a number of key decision making bodies including Academic Council of the University and BBA Course Review Committee.

With a vast experience in higher education teaching through hybrid facilities – face-to-face, online LMS based, live teaching on dedicated national educational TV channels, research and management in Indira Gandhi National Open University, Delhi (India) and other higher education institutions, I am Additional Director (Professor Scale) from August 2016 onwards, responsible for student performance assessment and related support services management in one of the largest regional office located at Noida in the state of  Uttar Pradesh in northern region of the country. I also worked in Department of Business Administration at Arab Open University Saudi Arabia for three years as a faculty member.

In addition to the primary organizational responsibilities and with the pursuit and keen positive intent to contribute towards global scholarship, development and enrichment, I have been actively involved as a member of academic review panels / committees for numerous international conferences and journals. Equipped with more than two decades of varied experience in distance education, creation of affordable lifelong learning opportunities for the not so privileged segments of the society, ensuring outreach and access to quality technology enabled teaching and learning platforms in South Asia, training and development through hybrid modes towards establishment of sustainable educational ecosystem, I have been engaging in multiple facets of ecology of education in a developing nation.

I have been actively engaged in academic research  and publication, with more than 12 books to my credit on Educational Marketing, Interactive Technology Environments in Higher Education, and Transnational Collaborations and Learning. Additionally, I have authored book chapters and contributed articles in standard national and international journals and also presented papers in national and international conferences. I was one of the Editors-in-Chief of International Journal of Technology and Educational Marketing (IJTEM) and am presently Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Technology-enabled Student Support Services (IJTESSS). I am also member of editorial boards and peer review boards of reputed international journals.

I was a Jawahar Lal Nehru scholar for doctoral studies in Human Resource Development, with Masters in Distance Education, Human Resource Management, and Public Administration. I was also an International Research Fellow of Open University Business School (2009) at Open University (UK).

My current research interests include Dimensions of Higher Education Management, Human Resource Development and Performance Management in Educational  Institutions, Technology enabled teaching and learning, Distance Education and Lifelong learning.
